A Night of Song in the Big Room with Fellow Pynins, Baron Tiger, and Joe Montone

The TileWorks of Bucks County presents A Night of Song in the Big Room. On Tuesday, April 30th we are celebrating the power of song from artists near + far in springtime at TileWorks. The night will feature touring folk duo Fellow Pynins (Oregon), the stellar Doylestown-based Baron Tiger, with special guest host, Joe Montone. Enjoy refreshments from our Crossroads Bakeshop Pop-Up Shop, Aval Cider, and more. More About the Artists: Fellow Pynins is an Ashland, Oregon based award winning contemporary folk duo with a keen and bucolic sense of vocal harmony and song craft anchored in the balladry tradition. The duo consists of Dani Aubert (claw-hammer banjo, bouzouki) and solo artist Ian George (guitar, mandolin). They are songwriters, collectors, and interpreters. Since 2016 the duo has toured the US incessantly and has gathered significant traction in the UK/Ireland, gracing festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Wilderness Festival, Omagh Bluegrass Festival, and selling out legs of their most recent UK/Ireland tour. In 2019 they were named by NPR’s Bob Boilen as one of the best Tiny Desk submissions and the same year won the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time duet competition. In 2020/2021 the duo relocated from Minneapolis, MN back to Oregon to build (learning every step of the way) two tiny houses on wheels for their family, which they now live in. On May 20, 2022 Fellow Pynins released their sophomore album Lady Mondegreen while officially showcasing at the 2022 Folk Alliance International Conference in Kansas City. Lady Mondegreen, recorded live over 10 days in December 2021 at their off-grid tiny house dwelling in the mountains of Oregon, is an ode to their love and reverence for traditional music. All songs on the album were learned person-to-person from various individuals they met whilst traveling with their two children over a 10 month song collecting trip through Europe/UK/Ireland in their transformed camper van “Big Blue.” “Folk Music with a hefty touch of whimsy.” - Bob Boilen (NPR) Baron Tiger: Dreamy cello-drenched, harmony-laden music featuring Larissa Hopwood + Melissa Del Rinker. Joe Montone has been writing songs and immersed in music for over half his life. The Doylestown native is also known for setting the stage as a Concert + Experiences Producer behind the Abington Art Center Summer Concert Series, Picnics On Pine, and his classic country revue The Holy Heat Thunder Country Show.

Raku at TileWorks - Summer 2024

TileWorks offers a unique opportunity to create using raku, the Japanese firing technique that originated in the 1500s with local artist, Eric Boynton, from Clay Rat Studio. Eric will provide a hand thrown a ceramic vessel which you will decorate with special raku glazes. Your pot will be put into a special gas fired raku kiln and will reach a very high temperature rapidly. When your pot is red hot and glowing, it will be pulled from the kiln and submerged in a lidded can full of organic material to smolder.
